About Delaware CarePlan, Inc.

Established in 1999 as a result of The Delaware CarePlan Trust Act, Delaware CarePlan is a nonprofit, non-governmental agency. We make it possible for families to provide future support for their loved ones with special needs without making them ineligible for critical government benefits.

For over 20 years, we have been providing guardians and families with a necessary support system to ensure the financial well-being and quality of life for their loved ones with special needs.

Due to advances in diagnoses and medical care, the lifespan of children with disabilities has increased, making it more likely than in previous generations that they will outlive their parents. While this is a wonderful shift, it also creates a harsh reality for parents that they need to plan for their child's life without them. Delaware CarePlan exists to be your partner in planning and to put your mind at ease, that if there comes a time when you cannot care for your loved one, someone will be there to step in and ensure they continue to live a safe and happy life.

Faced with limited options and worrisome alternatives, many families have shared their gratitude for our program and the peace of mind it allows, as expressed in the testimonials below...

"It is truly wonderful to have another set of eyes and ears from such caring people who can give guidance and who have my brother's best interest at heart."

"I can assure you that we are most grateful and believe that we have fulfilled our parents' wishes, as well as our own desire, to be good stewards of the monetary resources which they worked so hard for to ensure an independent future for our brother."

"[Ellen's] calm and patient explanations to my daughter made sense to her.  It would have been easier to dismiss her, but [she] did not.  That meant so much to me."

"Thank you for all of your kindness and assistance throughout my sister's life. Your support helped make my life a little easier, especially during her final days."
